Christian Pulisic admits the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool was ‘another bad result’ for Milan, as they were jeered off the field and insulted by angry fans at San Siro.

The Rossoneri had the perfect start to the Champions League when scoring within three minutes at San Siro with Pulisic’s angled drive.

However, it was a short-lived dream because by half-time it had been turned on its head by identical Liverpool set play goals, headers from Ibrahim Konaté and Virgil van Dijk.

Mike Maignan went off with a knee injury, so 19-year-old Lorenzo Torriani was beaten by Dominik Szoboszlai for 3-1.

“It’s another bad result for us,” Pulisic told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’ve got to find the answers so that we can improve. We want to win games.”

The crowd jeered angrily and hurled insults in the final stages, those who hadn’t already walked out, because they saw a Milan team that appeared to give up.

“We had energy at times, but we can’t seem to build momentum in the opposition half. They caused us problems.”

The 4-0 win over Venezia remains the only highlight of a dismal start to this season, where the Rossoneri played two draws and two defeats in all competition.

It is the worst possible way to prepare for Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina against city rivals Inter, who are in action tomorrow night away to Manchester City in the Champions League.

“It has been a difficult start to the campaign. The next match with Inter will be tough, we’ve got to give everything and turn things around,” concluded Pulisic.
