Christian Pulisic believes that AC Milan’s win against Venezia was an important one to try and build consistency in view of the Coppa Italia final.
While a lot of the focus for Milan might be on the final in Rome next month, there is still an obligation to try and finish the league season in the best way possible, and today’s result certainly helped that.
The Rossoneri won 2-0 against Venezia at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo in the early kick-off, with an early goal from Pulisic and a late one from Santiago Gimenez making sure of the points.
Another positive note was that a third clean sheet in four games arrived since switching to a three-man defence, and it certainly seems to be a platform to build on moving forward.
Pulisic was handed the Panini Player of the Match award after the full-time whistle and he spoke to DAZN to give his thoughts on the game, which were transcribed by MilanNews.
You’re going head to head with Reijnders for the season’s top scorer…
“I don’t know the numbers, we don’t compete but it’s always good to score goals and assist.”
You scored your 10th goal in the league…
“This is our job, we have to decide the games. We want to finish well. The cup is certainly the most important game, but it is still essential to gain consistency.”
Did you speak to Busio for this match…
“He’s a great friend. Not during the game, but after (laughs). It’s always nice to play against a friend.”
