PSV crowned Dutch champions

After clawing back a nine-point gap to Ajax in the closing stages of the season, PSV held their nerve when it mattered most, seeing off Sparta Rotterdam 3-1 to clinch the 26th league title in the club’s history.

Ajax did their bit on the final day, beating Twente 2-0, but it wasn’t enough. PSV had edged a point ahead in the previous round and kept their lead intact, finishing the campaign on 79 points - just one clear of their rivals.
