With Milan Skriniar now at Fenerbahçe SK, Paris Saint-Germain could be on the lookout for a new center-back when the summer transfer window opens. Skriniar’s departure is permanent, so PSG will need to find a replacement.
Last month, Anfield Watch reported that PSG are fully committed to signing Ibrahima Konaté. With uncertainty surrounding the defender’s future, this pursuit adds even more pressure.
PSG are targeting Konaté this summer, hoping to bring him back to Paris, his hometown. The defender, who started his career at Paris FC before moving to RB Leipzig, is a key target for the French club.

On Saturday, Get French Football News reported, citing sources, that reports linking Konaté (25) with a move to PSG are “completely unfounded.”
ESPN reported on Friday, citing sources, that PSG are interested in signing Liverpool defender Konaté this summer. The report also suggests that the France international is intrigued by the idea of returning to his hometown.
Konaté is under contract with Liverpool until 2026, but despite PSG’s interest, the club is eager to keep him long-term. He joined Liverpool in July 2021 for £36 million ($45.3 million) from RB Leipzig.
Journalist Romain Collet Gaudin also confirmed the report, revealing that PSG’s two top targets for the summer window are Konaté and AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche.
