Skriniar joined Paris Saint-Germain from Inter twelve months ago.

The Slovak international’s move marked the end of a transfer saga that had lasted for more than a year.

PSG had first shown an interest in signing Skriniar in the summer of 2022.

There were negotiations between the French giants and Inter. However, they failed to find an agreement on a deal.

Part of the reason was that Inter failed to secure the signing of defender Bremer. The Brazilian joined Juventus from Torino rather than the Nerazzurri.

Bremer had been the player who Inter had earmarked as a replacement for Skriniar.

Moreover, PSG did not make an offer that Inter considered high enough.

So Inter kept hold of Skriniar for the 2022-23 season. And they did so knowing full well that his contract expired at the end of the campaign.

Inter attempted to convinced the Slovakian to sign an extension.

However, Skriniar instead decided to agree a move to PSG at the end of his deal.

But things have not worked out according to plan for Skriniar in the French capital.

The former Inter and Sampdoria defender made 24 appearances in Ligue 1 last season.

But in the Champions League, Skriniar fell out of favour.

Even when defender Lucas Hernandez went out with a knee injury, PSG coach Luis Enrique opted to play January arrival Lucas Beraldo over Skriniar.

That is a mark of the lack of trust in the 29-year-old that Enrique has.

Therefore, Le Parisien report, PSG are already looking to get rid of Skriniar this summer.

And a move to Serie A could be a possible. The Slovak international continues to have a very positive reputation in the Italian top flight based on his time at Inter.
