Paris Saint-Germain are ready to reignite their interest in signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.
Rashford scored in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town as Ruben Amorim’s first game ended in a stalemate at Portman Road. However, his recent performances have been criticised and he has netted just twice in 12 league appearances this season.
PSG are long-term admirers of Rashford and have been public in their admiration of the player previously. The French side’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, spoke on the potential of signing Rashford as a free agent in 2022.
“He’s another player that is really amazing,” said Al-Khelaifi at the time.
“And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely. We’re not hiding it, we spoke before and… interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe, summer, why not?
“Today if he’s a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested we will talk to him.”
The French champions failed to sign a replacement for Kylian Mbappe in the summer and TEAMtalk are reporting that the club are prepared to renew their interest in Rashford.
Randal Kolo Muani – coincidentally linked with Manchester United – could leave PSG in the January transfer window and Rashford is viewed as an option to add to their forward line.
However, he has four years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and is understood to remain happy at his boyhood side.
