PSG could bring in two new players this month if talks go well, as both are keen to join the French capital. The club is set to add a new No. 1 goalkeeper and strengthen their defense with another center-back.
L’Equipe recently reported that PSG have ramped up efforts to sign Lucas Chevalier, who is under contract until 2027. Negotiations for a five-year deal have started, and Chevalier has already agreed on most personal terms.
Meanwhile, journalist Ben Jacobs recently reported that Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi has agreed to a five-year contract and is waiting for the two clubs to finalize a deal, despite interest from Tottenham.
Jacobs also mentioned that if the transfer goes through, the fee will likely be closer to Bournemouth’s €70 million asking price than the €60 million previously reported. However, some negotiations remain before the deal is made, but it looks like this is close to being done.

On Thursday, RMC Sport reported that Luis Enrique wants Chevalier and Zabarnyi signed before Wednesday. The goalkeeper is expected to arrive in Paris within the next 24 hours. After securing Chevalier, PSG’s management is now moving quickly to finalize a deal for Zabarnyi with Bournemouth before the week is out.
When it comes to Zabarnyi, PSG would have fended off Premier League interest after L’Equipe reported that Tottenham and Newcastle United remained in the mix and that both Premier League clubs were ready to meet Bournemouth’s demands immediately, if Zabarnyi gave them the green light.
Much like Zabarnyi, Chevalier also drew interest from a Premier League club. ESPN recently reported that Aston Villa have reached out to LOSC Lille about a potential move for Chevalier.
The Frenchman was considered a possible replacement for Emiliano Martínez, who is exploring a move away from the club. Nonetheless, it seems as though Aston Villa have look at other alternatives if they want to replace the Argentine.
