On Wednesday evening, L’Équipe reported that the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) had dismissed Kylian Mbappé’s (25) attempt to recover €55m in alleged unpaid bonuses from his former club.
The French captain attempted to force the club to pay him the money that he believed was owed to him during his time in the French capital.
Back in September, the LFP’s commission ordered Les Parisiens to pay the Real Madrid striker the wages that he had requested.
Following that decision, Mbappé’s representatives told the Associated Press that the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner had asked the commission to take note of the non-payment of three months of salary plus the last third of a loyalty bonus.
PSG immediately said they were going to appeal the ruling made in September.
On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the club said: “We are very pleased that the Disciplinary Committee has decided not to sanction Paris Saint-Germain as the player had requested. By declaring his request inadmissible, the Disciplinary Committee has put an end to this long-running sequence.”
This recent decision was made following the summons of the LFP made by the reigning Ligue 1 champions before the Paris Judicial Court.
It was made to obtain the annulment of the original ruling by the LFP. In his final season at PSG, Mbappé became the club’s all-time top goalscorer, surpassing Edinson Cavani (37), en route to leading the team to a third successive Ligue 1 title,
During his time in Paris, Mbappé captured six league titles and four Coupe de France trophies, while also helping them reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2020.
With his PSG contract expiring over the summer, Mbappé moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
