The young Frenchman Mathys Tel is causing regret at Paris Saint-Germain after FC Bayern successfully signed him. Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is particularly disappointed.

In the past, Paris Saint-Germain has mainly attracted attention with expensive transfers. In future, however, the financially strong club wants to focus more on developing young talent. This makes it all the more disappointing that Mathys Tel, who played in Montrouge, a suburb of Paris, before joining Bayern Munich, has slipped through the ranks.

The French newspaper L’Equipe reports of an angry PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who does not like it when such talents go unnoticed and then blossom at rival clubs.

Tel, who despite his young age is already a permanent fixture in the Munich squad, has scored an impressive nine goals and provided five assists this season. These statistics are all the more impressive when you consider that he has rarely featured in the starting eleven and has mostly been deployed as a left winger.

Change of coach as an opportunity for Tel?

Even if there is currently no way around star striker Harry Kane, Munich are still planning to keep the young Frenchman. His contract was recently extended until 2029. Tel is set to become one of the main pillars of the German record champions‘ team in the future. He moved to Munich from Stade Rennes in the summer of 2022.

In particular, the change of coach in the summer could pave the way for a new opportunity for Tel, who celebrated his 19th birthday on Saturday in the 2-1 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt. In Ralf Rangnick, who is currently the hottest candidate to succeed Tuchel, FCB have a talented supporter on their hands.
