theRangers earned £11.7 million

Not including match day income their bounty was a pretty decent £11.7 million which will come in handy as they fight to keep the wolves from the door for the time being. But that figure pales into significance when you compare it to what Scotland’s champions earned in prize money thanks to participating in Europes most prestigious tournament.

Celtic earned an eye watering £28 million

Celtic earned an eye watering £28 million excluding match day revenue, and it once again highlights not just the importance of qualifying for the champions league, but the gulf that exists between the two competitions.

It’s more than just a gulf, it’s a chasm. Not just on the park when it comes to quality, but off it too when it concerns finance. The difference in quality has never been greater between the two competitions, and shows once more how beneficial it is for us to compete with Europe’s elite on a regular basis.
