Luton Town and Coventry City clash this Saturday at Kenilworth Road Stadium in Matchweek 45 of the EFL Championship. The match will be broadcast live at 12:30 on Sky Sports +.

The Hatters have picked up 46 points and lie in 22nd position. However, Matt Bloomfield's team won 3-1 against Bristol City in their last fixture to give their survival chances a huge shot in the arm.

Coventry, meanwhile, have 66 points to date and currently occupy the final play-off spot in the division. In their last game, Frank Lampard's team lost 3-1 against another relegation battler Plymouth Argyle.

The last meeting between the two teams ended with Coventry winning by the odd goal in five (3-2).

The Fan Zone

Simon Holden : Easter Monday’s win against high-flying Bristol City was absolutely huge - and impressive. Despite virtually every other side in trouble also winning, the victory against the Robins will have given the players (& a lot of fans) every belief they can win the next two games. Do that and they stay up. Simple. It’s in Town’s hands. Two weeks ago it was anything but. Saturday’s early KO is Town’s penultimate game and the last at home and a repeat performance and result would be perfect. However, the visitors are a very good, if slightly wobbling, Coventry side. Led by Frank Lampard (who I’ve never seen as angry as he was after their last game) they desperately need the win to maintain a slightly stuttering play-off charge. The reverse fixture earlier this season sort of kick-started Luton’s rapid plummet to the foot of the table and a major two month fan and pitch performance meltdown. Saturday will be a really difficult game but I think Luton’s energy, physicality, and newly rediscovered fight can get them over the line. I think Town will edge it 2-1 with the hugely impressive Thelo Aasgaard again providing the catalyst. Ninety minutes not for the faint hearted. Bring it on.
