As Arsenal brace themselves for their toughest test of the season against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, club legend Sol Campbell has fuelled the pre-match build-up by labelling Vinicius Jr. as the best winger in world football right now.
“Best winger in the world? Vinicius,” the former Premier League winner stated (h/t Madrid Xtra) without hesitation — a glowing endorsement that reflects just how far the Brazilian star has come under Carlo Ancelotti.
The Brazil forward has been in sensational form for Real Madrid in recent seasons.
With over 20 goals in each of his past three full campaigns and 19 already in the current one, the 24-year-old has proven to be not just a flair player but also a consistent match-winner.
His ability to influence games with pace, dribbling, and decisive end product makes him one of the most feared attackers in Europe.

Despite Kylian Mbappe’s arrival and his prolific goal-scoring impact this season — with the Frenchman already notching up 32 goals across all competitions — Vinicius has continued to shine on the left wing.
Ancelotti has cleverly structured the team to allow Mbappe to dominate the central spaces while keeping Vinicius in his natural role, ensuring both stars flourish without getting in each other’s way.
The Brazilian’s presence has not just elevated Madrid’s attacking threat but also provided balance, as seen against Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad with his constant threat down the left, giving opposition full-backs sleepless nights.
His partnership with Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo, combined with the added firepower of Mbappe, has made Madrid’s front line one of the most terrifying in world football.
As such, Campbell’s comments, coming from a defender who has faced world-class wingers during his time, carry significant weight.
For Arsenal, his words might also serve as a subtle warning: shutting down Vinicius could be key to stopping Real Madrid.
