With just Championship side Coventry City standing in Manchester United’s way of a second successive FA Cup final, manager Erik ten Hag should be confident he can pick a team to get the job done.

However, unprecedented injuries and woefully inconsistent form has left United devoid of confidence and it seems highly unlikely he will shuffle the pack for tomorrow’s Wembley showdown, despite poor recent performances.

Certainly, in any case, defensively there are no other senior options available as Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia all remain sidelined.

This means Diogo Dalot, Willy Kambwala, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire, who Ten Hag confirmed has himself recovered from a knock that affected his movement against Bournemouth, should be the automatic choices, with Andre Onana in goal.

In midfield, Ten Hag seems oblivious to what many fans and pundits see as unacceptable form from Casemiro and so we expect him to once again partner Kobbie Mainoo.

Scott McTominay is fit again, so could be another option.

Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat are also available.

Ten Hag also confirmed that Antony has recovered from injury. He was not included in last weekend’s squad to face Bournemouth amid rumours of a bust-up with the manager over playing time.

The club insisted that this was not true and that he was injured. But whatever the truth, we expect the manager to persist with another player in shocking form, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho, although the latter definitely locked horns with the manager himself this week.

The Argentinian liked social media posts criticising his early substitution in the Bournemouth game, but Ten Hag said he had apologised and the matter was closed.

Amad Diallo and Omari Forson are other wing options, as is Mount.

Bruno Fernandes will skipper the side and play in the number 10 position.

Rasmus Hojlund will continue up front, with Anthony Martial still out injured.

With all that in mind, here is our predicted XI for tomorrow’s game:
