Liverpool will be looking to maintain their impressive form when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon at Anfield.
The Reds are heading into this game on the back of a 2-2 draw against Everton at Goodison Park in midweek. It was a highly emotional Merseyside derby game, and the Reds will be disappointed with how it ended.
All teams have now played the same number of games, and we now know that Liverpool have a seven-point lead at the top (prior to this game week).
Wolves are just above the relegation zone and they can take inspiration from Everton on how to stop Liverpool. In the reverse fixture, Liverpool won 2-1 at Molineux, and they should be eyeing another three points.
Joe Gomez suffered a thigh injury and will not be returning soon. Curtis Jones is suspended for this game after he picked up a red card against the Toffees. Arne Slot also confirmed that Cody Gakpo is also a major doubt for this game.
The Reds boss said: “Cody is a bit of a doubt as well, so let’s wait [to see] how he is today. I had to take him off because of an injury because he got a knock, so let’s see how he is today.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold made his return to action at Goodison Park, and he should be fit to start for Liverpool. If selected, he will make the 250th appearance of his career in the Premier League for his boyhood club.
Alexander-Arnold is likely to replace Conor Bradley, but apart from that, the back-line should remain the same.
Slot may not take the risk with Gakpo as well, as he has loads of options in that position. Diogo Jota, 28, should be an automatic choice for the number nine role in that case.
