Pompey announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
The 21-year-old midfielder joins Portsmouth after being virtually made redundant by former club Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season following their decision to withdraw from the elite women’s game. Primmer spent one season with Rovers, helping the club to avoid the relegation place in Barclays WSL2.
Primmer started her senior career with former Barclays Women’s Super League club Reading. The midfielder was viewed as one of the Berkshire club’s brightest young stars and she went on to make more than 50 appearances for Reading in all competitions.
After adding Primmer to his squad, Portsmouth boss Jay Sadler said “We’re excited to welcome Tia to the club. She’s a combative midfielder with raw talent and joins us with valuable league experience already.
“Tia has huge potential for development and we believe this is the right environment for her to continue her growth.
“I’m really looking forward to working with her and seeing what she can bring to the group.”
Primmer is Portsmouth’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
