Pompey announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.
It has been reported that Quirk has opted to move into part-time football to allow her to develop a full-time interest outside of the game. AFC Bournemouth have paid an undisclosed fee to secure the player’s services for their debut season in the third tier.
Quirk joined Portsmouth in 2022 and she has gone on to star for the club. The forward has averaged a goal every other game for the South Coast club, helping them reach the elite game in the process. Quirk was a standout performer for Portsmouth in their debut season in the Barclays WSL2 last term.
After joining AFC Bournemouth, Quirk said “I am really excited and buzzing to be here. The club did really well last season and on first impressions, everyone has been really nice.
“With the club winning the league at tier four, when you’ve won anything, it gives you the mentality to keep going. The club is pushing in the right direction and everyone wants to win, there’s no two ways about it and we are really excited to finish as high as we can next season.”
Portsmouth must now begin the difficult task of finding a suitable replacement for Quirk.
