The new Premier League season is almost upon us and to celebrate, we have enlisted the help of some football-loving pop stars to preview and predict the coming campaign.
Today we've got Oli Fox, a West Ham fan and one half of Good Neighbours!
I’m hoping to see just a little more cohesion and consistency in our squad. Last season saw us with a talented squad that didn’t know how to be a team, so I hope Potter has drilled that into the boys.
I hate to say that it’s now a “hot take” but I believe we’ve recruited in such a way to secure a top half finish? I’d dream of a Europa spot but there’s been a lot of decent transfers from our main competition.
There’s a few things that I know will happen. Bowen will get into double figures, the fans will turn on Potter a couple of times, and we will have a decent FA Cup run but get knocked out by a silly club.
I’m actually very interested to see if Man United can do anything with a new look team. I really don’t like them as a team but some of the players they’ve employed like Mbeumo and Cunha deserve a shot at the big time. It’s an exciting time for the Premier League.
Regardless of the team, I’m not sure Ruben Amorim is the right manager for United. I can see him seeing the door mid-season.
El Hadji Malick Diouf. He’s had a steady start in pre-season but I really think he’s going to come into his own. We haven’t had an athlete like him in wing back for a while, so I’m excited to see how he shapes our attack.
Very tough. I think it’ll be Wirtz for Liverpool, but he faces competition from the likes of Mo Salah and other 10s like Cole Palmer.
Mo Salah is the obvious shout but I’m going to go with João Pedro as an outside vote.
Liverpool.
Sunderland, Wolves, Leeds.
Good Neighbours’ debut album, Blue Sky Mentality is out September 26th. Listen to track Suburbs now.
