Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is close to a move to AS Monaco as he looks to resume his career after his suspension with the 32-year-old speaking candidly to French TV, including about his treatment from Juventus.
"It was as if they were telling me that football was over for me. I didn't understand anything," Pogba said to TF1.
"It was very, very hard. I wasn't ready. Being condemned without any explanation, without anyone really listening to me, was a shock. I had to leave Italy also because my children were studying in the school next to the training center. Every day I spent with them, they asked me when I would play again. I couldn't take it anymore. It was very difficult."
"At that time, I asked for help, for example, from a physiotherapist and a fitness coach, because I was still part of Juventus. But I didn't get that help either. They weren't really there for me. And hearing that was a hard blow for me. I didn't understand, I wasn't at war with them."
Pogba also talked about being ready for his return and a potential move to Ligue 1 side Monaco.
"I am mentally and physically prepared. I can't wait to get back. I'm 32 years old, but I still feel like a child. I still enjoy playing with the ball and dribbling. I've become the boy I was in Roissy-en-Brie, who wants to start his career. I think about it, I wonder what it will be like, like a young man entering a training center for the first time. Everything will depend on me. But it's since I find a new team, which hasn't happened yet. Monaco We are talking, yes."
Pogba's last game was in September 2023 when he came on a substitute as a Juventus defeated Empoli 2-0 in Serie A.
