Inter Milan and Napoli played out an intense 1-1 Serie A draw to end the weekend.
Neither the Nerazzurri nor the Partenopei were able to take three points in the end.
Napoli scored first. Scott McTominay toe-poked the ball in after Inter failed to clear a corner.
And then Inter responded late in the first half, through a long-range Hakan Calhanoglu effort.
In the second half, Inter had a penalty. However, the normally impeccable Calhanoglu failed to score a second from the spot.
Therefore, the two sides split the points. This has made the top end of the Serie A table look very crowded heading into the international break.
All of Atalanta, Fiorentina, Lazio, and Juventus had caught up during the weekend.
Inter midfielder Calhanoglu took to Instagram after the match with his message after his penalty miss.
He posted, “Football is an emotional journey. One moment you’re on top of the world, and the next, you might feel the weight of disappointment. I truly wished to maintain a flawless penalty record, but missing one is part of the game. It’s all about going forward, we move.”
