Former England international Peter Crouch has offered up some credit to one Chelsea player who he says was getting stick from all different quarters.

Crouch was a player who was also on the receiving end of a lot of stick during his own playing career due to being a bit hit or miss at times and also quite an unorthodox player. But he overcame that criticism to become a top striker in the Premier League and also for England. He was impossible to mark and actually very technically good, and it is perhaps not until when he retired when people really realised how good he actually was.

Jackson scores for Chelsea yesterday!

The Blues striker scored for Chelsea again yesterday, which has furthermore helped turn the tide of opinion on him.

Crouch was keen to offer credit as well after watching Chelsea beat Leicester 2-1 away from home yesterday.

As cited on X, Crouch said:

“Credit to him. He’s worked at his game; he must have done. And credit to the club really because last year he was getting so much stick from all different quarters. Is he going to be a centre-forward of the calibre that Chelsea needs? He’s proving it this season with the number of goals and his all-round play. He’s a handful all the time. Really impressive today.”
