Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are working toward a solution regarding the transfer of Manuel Ugarte. There are only a few days left until the window closes, but should the Red Devils secure the Uruguayan, one pundit believes he’s the perfect fit.

This week, L’Equipe reported that the two clubs are nearing an agreement on a loan deal for Ugarte, which contains a €60 million obligation to buy. The two clubs have advanced considerably in their negotiations, and the transfer could be wrapped up within the next few hours.

On Thursday’s edition of “Good Morning Transfers,” one pundit noted that Ugarte would be the ideal complement to Kobbie Mainoo in the midfield.

“I actually do think [Ugarte] could be the answer,” the Sky Sports pundit said. “You mentioned it there about the space he can cover. He is a No. 6, and I think defensively is where he’s made an impression on why he’s probably getting the move to Man United…

“But Luis Enrique said when he managed him at PSG, he said, he reminds me of that player that doesn’t stop running, that gets around the pitch, that is so difficult to get past because he’s always there. He’s always in that space that you want to get into… But I genuinely believe with the options that Manchester United have, he would be the perfect partner for Kobbie Mainoo.”

Ugarte featured in 37 games for the reigning Ligue 1 champions last season, contributing three assists. The former Sporting Lisbon star started the season strongly, but his playing time decreased in the latter half as he was mainly used as a rotational player rather than a regular starter.
