Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi warns it would be ‘a big mistake to change our way of doing things’ now they are in the Scudetto race with a head-to-head against Milan tonight.

It kicks off at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo at 19.45 GMT.

La Dea are the form team in Serie A at the moment, winning their last eight on the bounce and the only side keeping up with leaders Napoli.

“We are happy, this season has started very well, but we are still in early days,” Percassi told Sky Sport Italia.

“There is a long way to go, every match is difficult and competitive, this evening we are against one of the giants of Italian football.”

Considering their current form, Percassi was asked if Atalanta would even be content with a point against Milan.

“These games are in the balance, they are all about the details. Every point is important for us. Over the years, Atalanta achieved extraordinary results and we did it by taking it one game at a time. Our approach remains the same, it would be a big mistake to change our way of doing things.

“Our objective remains to not have regrets and keep giving our all.”

Juan Cuadrado joined the injury list with a muscular issue, along with Davide Zappacosta and Gianluca Scamacca.

Gian Piero Gasperini, who is suspended again this evening, has tried to rule Atalanta out of the Scudetto race, but does Percassi feel the same?

“As CEO, I can only thank my father and Stephen Pagliuca for making important investments in both the squad and the infrastructure.

“The Atalanta we see today was built up over the years by results on the field and the support of investment off it too. We are in a fantastic stadium, work in a great training centre and have a significant squad at our disposal.”
