Pellegatti explains why RedBird’s potential sale of Toulouse is of interest to Milan | OneFootball

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti believes that the situation related to Toulouse is something that AC Milan fans should keep an eye on.

Toulouse were the first football club that RedBird took control of, acquiring an 85% stake in the summer of 2020. Then a second division club, they earned promotion to Ligue 1 in 2021-22 and also won the French Cup under the American ownership.

Given that UEFA have ruled on multi-club ownership and also because of RedBird’s nature as a fund that raise the value of companies, there have been rumours that they might sell their stake in the French side, the most recent of which came from L’Equipe.

Pellegatti published his weekly column on MilanNews, and in addition to addressing topics such as the new sporting director and the win over Udinese, he mentioned the news from France.

“I continue with a piece of news that should not be overlooked. A few days ago, the French sports daily L’Equipe revealed that Toulouse, owned by Redbird, is up for sale,” he said.

“Interested in the purchase, according to this hypothesis, is a second-tier fund based in Dubai, World Gate Investment founded by Syrian businessman Anas Amin. What impact could the possible sale of Toulouse have on Milan? For now, on a practical level, none obviously.

“However, it could be a sign, in the event of confirmation of the deal, that RedBird are opening the market. With WGI that, according to some analysts, could even become a future minority shareholder of Milan.

“And the fact that Gerry Cardinale, as owner of the Rossoneri club, is very favourable to the arrival of ‘help’ on a financial level is as certain as the law of gravity.”
