Now that the return to the pitch seems closer, footballers take the opportunity to get physically ready, but also to give the latest interviews before the football routine. On this occasion, it is Chelsea player Pedro Rodríguez who stopped by El Larguero to talk about certain topics, among others about the rumor that links him with Real Betis Balompié.
The reason for the interview was none other than to present the solidarity auction that his Foundation has undertaken with Sergio Rodríguez. In it, it seeks to allocate money to the Canarian families most disadvantaged by the Covid-19 crisis, whose collection currently exceeds 10,000 euros.
In addition, Pedro made a say on the return of the Premier League. In particular, it is clear that, if you return to the competition, and with it a hypothetical new outbreak of the virus, "it would be time to suspend the leagues". He did not deny the fear that this entails: "I think there is some fear, obviously. When a partner catches, and you see that it's wrong, there's some fear. When you see most of the players who have been infected, as is the case with Pepe Reina, I spoke to him and told me how badly he had. There's some fear when a partner catches," he confessed. "We have to prioritize health ahead of everything, re-compete is not the top priority."
After talking about other related issues, the Tenerife wanted to clarify rumors about his future: "At the moment I have a contract here, until June 30, I am waiting for a meeting with the club. I'm done with a contract, we haven't sat down to see if I can renew here. For now I'm going to stay here, at least until my contract ends. But obviously I'm also open to hearing other offers, although it's not my priority." Asked specifically by the Betis, he stated that "there is going out a lot, I don't pay much attention now to what the press is saying. I don't know if the Betis is behind me or not."
Real Betis, which lately is playing to reinforce himself with players such as Pedro Rodríguez or David Silva, would thus have players of proven quality to make a leap of quality in their squad. If this is added to the completion of the contract of the Tenerife with Chelsea, and his supposed intention to return to LaLiga, perhaps he will be on a unique occasion to sign an entire world champion to continue to grow as a club.
