Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro has now done something more than any other Premier League player has this season.

It has been an impressive campaign for the 24-year-old who only joined Tottenham last year from Sporting CP.

But Pedro Porro has taken to life under Ange Postecoglou extremely well and has nailed down the spot at right-back in the starting XI.

Porro shining under Postecoglou

According to WhoScored, the Spanish right-back has now completed more successful blocked crosses (17) than any other player in the league.

The statistic emerges as the player is currently sat on the sidelines due to a muscular injury he picked up in training recently.

Porro has played a big part in Tottenham’s season so far, but he was absent for the recent defeat against Wolves.

Although Postecoglou has not put an exact date on when Porro can be expected back, the Spaniard has taken to social media to provide fans with a bit of a clue.

Tottenham’s injury latest

It has been a season which has been marred by injuries and does leave the question of how much further up the table could Spurs have been without those injuries.

Of course, it is part of the game, but there have been some huge injury absences to the likes of James Maddison and Micky van de Ven.

And now the club are having to deal without Destiny Udogie who was also missing for the game against Wolves last weekend.

It is not all gloom and doom, though. There has been some positive suggestions that the Italian left-back could make his return for the game on 2 March against Crystal Palace.

And Postecoglou’s frontline could also be provided with a boost for that game as news broke on Friday that Manor Solomon is expected to make his long-awaited return to training.

There is still a lot to play for this season, but having key players fit will be essential for Postecoglou.
