It seems extremely likely now that FC Barcelona will soon officially secure their next summer signing. The Catalan giants have been working over the last few weeks to get a deal over the line. Now, it finally seems like Barcelona will be able to do just that with a certain English winger.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford now looks set to join the Catalan giants on a loan deal. Recently, several reputable sources confirmed that the English winger would be joining Barcelona and that a total agreement has been reached over the operation.

However, there are definitely going to be different opinions over the whole operation. Some believe that Barcelona have secured a great player on a deal that is quite favourable for them, while others believe that the player is simply a shell of his former self by now.

Interestingly, even former Manchester United midfielder and FIFA World Cup winner Paul Pogba recently shared his own honest verdict on the whole operation involving Rashford and Barcelona. As quoted by Mundo Deportivo, the French midfielder who now plays for AS Monaco had this to say about it while speaking to a streamer:

“This is crazy. I’m happy for him because they took his shirt number away from him in Manchester. They’re losing a great player—it’s bad for them, but great for Barcelona.”

He continued to talk about the deal but confessed that he does not blame Ruben Amorim for this. However, he did conclude by saying that he is happy for his former Manchester United teammate:

“I’m not even talking about Manchester United. They’ve signed some players and the new coach (Amorim) wants to impose his style, I guess. It’s not his (the coach’s) fault, I suppose. If he doesn’t believe in a player… In the end, they need to win. If they don’t win and don’t play well, he’ll be sacked. I’m happy for Marcus.”

Hansi Flick will finally get a new left-winger

Interestingly, Pogba will be joined this season at Monaco by another Barcelona player himself. Ansu Fati, who is joining the Ligue 1 side on loan this summer, will have much to prove himself and it will be interesting to see him link up with Pogba.

As for the Rashford deal, that move now looks set to be completed. With Hansi Flick having reportedly requested a new left-winger this summer, it would appear that Barcelona has finally managed to give their coach what he wanted.
