Palmeiras return to training, begin preparations for the Derby

Palmeiras reappeared on Tuesday morning (26), at the Football Academy, hours after the 3-0 win over Sport, on Monday night (25), at Allianz Parque, for the 21st round of the Brazilian Championship.

The starters did regenerative activities in the recovery and neuroscience room, while the rest of the squad went to the field and performed technical work – the first was an improvement of launches, crosses and finishes and the second was a duel of four against four players in reduced dimensions.

Paulinho and Raphael Veiga fulfilled the schedule with the Health and Performance Nucleus, while Aníbal Moreno, suspended against Sport for three yellow cards, trained fully and is again available for the match on Sunday (31) against Corinthians, at 6:30 pm, at Neo Química Arena, for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship.

Evangelista speaks

After training, midfielder Lucas Evangelista spoke about the current good phase of the alviverde team.

“We work every day, during the week, precisely to achieve these victories. So, the work we do is materializing. It's good because it makes it a little easier to work, it gives more confidence to those who are playing, to those who are entering as well, everyone always adding up. The atmosphere gets lighter and things end up flowing in a more natural way”

Lucas also commented on the preparation for the Derby.

“It's good to work, play and achieve victory. This gives confidence, we know we're on the right path. Of course, it's not all perfect, we can't fool ourselves with that, because victories end up hiding some details, some mistakes. We have a very good head in relation to that. Now it's a longer week, we can rest both mentally and physically. We came from a heavy sequence of game after game, so I'm sure we'll rest, put our heads in place, return to training and make the best strategy, listen to what Abel has to say along with his committee. It's working, resting and I'm sure we'll have a good game on Sunday”, he highlighted.

Finally, the midfielder praised the club's atmosphere and congratulated Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras on its anniversary.

“I feel very blessed, very honored to wear this shirt. I've been here for a short time, but it's enormous gratitude for the club, for the staff. All the employees treat me very well, the fans too, since I arrived I identified myself a lot, the people treat me very well. I thank the affection of all, it's an honor to wear this shirt. Congratulations to the club for these 111 years of many glories, many conquests and may it always be like this”, he concluded.
