Barcelona star Pablo Torre intends to stay put to fight for his place for the remainder of the campaign.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest ongoings behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Youngster Torre, for his part, has of course seen his opportunities to contribute gradually decrease over the early months of the season.

After initially playing an important role in Hansi Flick’s squad amid a shortage of options in the middle of the park, the 21-year-old has since been afforded just a solitary start since all the way back in late September.

This comes with the likes of Dani Olmo, Fermín López and Gavi now back fully fit and firing.

Such struggles had given rise to mounting speculation in the media of late, pointing towards a potential January loan exit for Torre.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest update on the situation to have surfaced on Tuesday is anything to go by, then no such transfer will be forthcoming.

As per a report from MD:

‘For now, the Cantabrian is keeping the idea of staying at Barça until the end of the season. The midfielder knows that the season is very long and after the Christmas holidays, with the start of the Copa del Rey for Barça, he hopes to have more opportunities.’
