Ousmane Dembélé is in his first season with Paris Saint-Germain after leaving FC Barcelona this summer transfer window. While the goal-scoring is lacking, the 26-year-old has become a creator on the squad.

As the Frenchman approaches the midway point of his first year back in France, Dembélé spoke at length with PSG TV. The winger recalled his time with Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona on many topics discussed in the interview.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner shared what his experience was like while with the German club. He noted that when arriving, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped him settle in with the Bundesliga side.

“At the beginning, I spoke with Thomas Tuchel and Michel Zorc, who was sports director at the time,” Dembélé said (h/t Paris Fans). “They immediately convinced me about the BVB project, plus they came to talk to me. I hadn’t played a lot of professional matches. They immediately had confidence in me.

“When I arrived, Aubameyang helped me like a big brother. Afterward, I spent a very good year in Dortmund; I had a lot of fun with a playing group with many qualities. I had the confidence of the coach, and everything went well.”

Furthermore, Dembélé touched on what it was like to join Barcelona. The forward spent seven years with the Catalan side before leaving for PSG on a transfer for €50.4 million.

“My arrival in Barcelona went very well, although I had physical problems at the start,” Dembélé added. “I spent six wonderful years there; I made a lot of friends. I will only keep very good memories.”

The PSG star now hopes to write a successful chapter with PSG that allows him to bring the UEFA Champions League to the French capital.
