Andy Carroll's seven seasons at West Ham were greatly impacted by injuries, but when he was on it, he reminded fans of the player they saw light it up with Newcastle in his younger days.
Nine years ago today was one of those times as he scored the final hat-trick at the famous Boleyn Ground, known to many as Upton Park.
It came in a frenetic 3-3 London derby draw with Arsenal, whose title challenge faded further in the East End at the head and foot of the Geordie hitman.
Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez had put the Gunners in a commanding position heading for the break, but Carroll wiped out their lead with a quickfire brace, one finished with his head and the other acrobatically with his left foot.
He grabbed another header, and his hat-trick, just after the break, powering home then-right-back Michael Antonio's hanging cross.
Arsenal would find an equaliser, but Carroll's three-piece stands out as one of the great final moments at the famous old ground.
The 36-year-old is currently living it up with Bordeaux as he aims to help the fallen French giants back up the divisions, and maybe has another hat-trick in store soon.
