Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi has been the subject of speculation with reports suggesting the Italian coach could replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

Inzaghi, who knows what it feels like to score a goal against Liverpool in a Champions League final, has impressed in his role as Inter Milan manager after leading the Serie A giants to title success last season.

A move to the Premier League has been tipped by sections of the media, however, it doesn’t sound like that is on the agenda as far as Inzaghi is concerned.

Inzaghi to Manchester United claims rubbished

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano claims nothing is happening regarding Inzaghi potentially moving from Inter to the Premier League, despite links to United.

Check out the video below, where Romano explains the latest as he plays down Inzaghi’s links to United.

“Guys, I can tell you that it’s absolutely nothing ongoing right now between Simeone Inzaghi and Manchester United, no chance,” Romano told his YouTube subscribers.

Romano adds that it looks like Inzaghi will be staying put at Inter.

We can expect a flurry of reports about managers who may succeed Ten Hag, if he is sacked by INEOS. I don’t think we should expect a decision to be made in the imminent future but that won’t stop other media outlets from creating stories.

So long as United stay away from Gareth Southgate.

Manchester United are calm

The Athletic’s David Ornstein appeared on NBC Sports to provide an update on Ten Hag’s future.

Speaking ahead of United’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday explained there has been no decision to sack the manager yet.

The feel Ornstein gets from sources close to United is that all is calm and there won’t be any kneejerk decisions made when it comes to Ten Hag’s future because they want him to succeed.

It isn’t accurate to say Ten Hag has lost the dressing room, however, the pressure is continuing to grow on the Dutchman from a hierarchy that wants to see results and solid performances.

Ornstein adds that he is not aware of United speaking to other candidates like they did in the summer, before giving Ten Hag a contract extension.

If a change is to be made, Ruud van Nistelrooy could step in as a potential successor, but Ornstein plays down links to Gareth Southgate.

Ornstein claims Inzaghi was surprised by the reports because he doesn’t speak English.
