Orlando Pirates announce the departure of another star
Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of midfielder Karim Kimvuidi, who has secured a season-long loan move to Israeli side SC Ashdod. The 23-year-old’s exit comes after a challenging spell in Soweto, marking the second Pirates player to move abroad this transfer window following Mohau Nkota’s switch to Saudi Arabia.
The club announced the deal ahead of their crucial MTN8 semifinal clash against Mamelodi Sundowns. According to the statement, Ashdod holds an option to make Kimvuidi’s move permanent at the end of the loan, potentially extending his stay for an additional three years.
"Orlando Pirates can confirm that Karim Kimvuidi has joined FC Ashdod on a season-long loan with an option to buy," the club said in an official release. The Congolese midfielder has already left South Africa, departing from OR Tambo International Airport as he begins his new chapter in Israel.
