Only Denzel Dumfries and Yann Sommer made the grade out of the Inter Milan players on the pitch against PSG.

That is the verdict in the Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, after yesterday’s humbling 5-0 Champions League final loss for the Nerazzurri.

Inter Milan’s 5-0 loss at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain yesterday was nothing short of traumatic.

There were hardly any Nerazzurri players to emerge with any credit from that Champions League final shellacking.

However, in the view of the Gazzetta, there were a couple players who at least coped with the occasion.

Dumfries & Sommer The Only Players To Make The Grade For Inter Vs PSG

MILAN, ITALY – MAY 06: Yann Sommer of FC Internazionale acknowledges the fans as he celebrates his team’s 4-3 victory after the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Semi Final Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and FC Barcelona at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on May 06, 2025 in Milan, Italy. In the view of the Gazzetta, Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries did as well as he could have.

The Dutchman at least offered an outlet and some energy and running. He made sure that Nuno Mendes could not completely dominate his side of the pitch.

Moreover, Dumfries stuck to his task in trying to mark Paris Saint-Germain danger man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Then, the Gazzetta argue, even in spite of conceding an eye-watering five goals, Yann Sommer could not have done much better.

The 36-year-old was put straight in the line of fire by the team in front of him. There was little he could have done to stop any of PSG’s five goals, particularly with the deflections.

Moreover, Sommer even prevented the scoreline from getting more embarrassing for Inter.
