Westerlo comfortably saw off a struggling Kortrijk side on Sunday afternoon thanks to a brace from on loan Tottenham man Alfie Devine. The 20-year-old scored twice to open his account for the side as they won 4-0 at home. Devine joined the side in the summer on loan and has impressed in his nine performances so far and there will be hope that he can kick on from here and add a few more before the end of the season.
After the win on Sunday evening Westerlo now sit in seventh place, a vast improvement on their lowly finish last season as they looked to battle against the drop. The defeat means Kortrijk remain in the bottom four with just four wins in their opening 15 games. However, the gap to safety is just three points. Yet they have looked poor this season despite expectations that they may be a mid table side.
Devine has made just two appearances for the senior Spurs side, with loan spells at both Port Vale and Plymouth in recent years.
