The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have on Monday announced the appointment of a new president.
The individual to have been voted in by his colleagues comes in the form of Rafael Louzán.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the RFEF this afternoon:
‘The current president of the RFGF, Rafael Louzán, has been the winning candidate in the elections for the Presidency and the Delegate Commission of the Royal Spanish Football Federation for the Olympic period 2024-2028.’
Louzán comfortably beat out competition from closest challenger Salvador Gomar to secure his new role, amassing 90 votes to Gomar’s 43.
The RFEF has been without a president since July of this year, after Pedro Rocha was suspended for a period of two years for what was described at the time as a ‘very serious infringement’ of his authority.
Louzán has been appointed for the period running between 2024 and 2028.
