RB Leipzig have announced that Zsolt Löw has been appointed as interim head coach, replacing Marco Rose, who was fired earlier today.
Löw will be in charge of Leipzig for the rest of the season and will be joined by Peter Krawietz as his assistant. Krawietz was previously assistant head coach at Liverpool under Jürgen Klopp, who is now Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull.
The 45-year-old was previously ‘Global Head of Soccer Development’ at Red Bull.
The Hungarian returns to Leipzig having been assistant manager to Ralph Hasenhüttl and Ralf Rangnick from 2015-18. Löw also held a similar role with Red Bull Salzburg and Liefering. Löw’s last experience of German football was as assistant coach to Thomas Tuchel, where he won the Bundesliga in 2023.
Löw will take charge of his first training session on Monday ahead of Leipzig’s DFB-Pokal tie against VfB Stuttgart later in the week.
