AC Milan have been informed of the dates of their first games in 2025, and the Supercoppa Italiana has affected scheduling.
This season, Milan have their hands in several jars, and this means that scheduling can often be difficult to work around – as we have already seen with the result of the Bologna postponement, which has been heavily criticised by the club.
At present, the Rossoneri find themselves in four competitions – so Paulo Fonseca must manage his squad’s minutes correctly. Nevertheless, today he has been delivered information about the scheduling of Matchday 19 and 20, with the Rossoneri’s calendar being dictated by their participation in the Supercoppa Italiana.
On the club’s official website, it has been stated that the Diavolo will play Juventus in Saudi Arabia in the Supercoppa on Friday, January 3, with a potential meeting against Inter or Atalanta taking place on January 6 – which is the following Monday.
Then, five days later, Milan will host Cagliari at San Siro at 20:45 CET which will actually be Serie A Matchday 20. They will play the fixture against Como – which is Matchday 19 – on the following Tuesday at 18:30 CET.
This means that the Rossoneri will play eight times in 26 days, averaging a game every three days, meaning Fonseca’s rotation strategy will be heavily tested.
