The Burkinabe defender arrives at the Racecourse Ground for a full season
Issa Kaboré / Wrexham AFC
Issa Kaboré has officially joined Wrexham AFC from Manchester City. The Burkinabe right-back signs on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season with the Welsh Championship club. The announcement was confirmed on Monday evening, just hours after the summer transfer window closed.
Issa Kaboré brings his international experience to Phil Parkinson's squad. His versatility down the right flank is a major asset for Wrexham, who are looking to shore up their defense after earning promotion to the Championship. The defender from Bobo-Dioulasso was signed by Manchester City in 2020, but never managed to break into Pep Guardiola's first team.
Since arriving at the Citizens, he has gained valuable experience through multiple loan spells across Europe. KV Mechelen in Belgium, Troyes and Marseille in France, Luton Town in the Premier League, Benfica in Portugal, and most recently Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga have all benefited from his services. This seventh loan destination marks a new chapter in the player's journey. Wrexham is counting on the experience he has accumulated in various European leagues to strengthen their defensive line.
