SK Sturm Graz have confirmed the arrival of Emran Soglo (19) from Olympique de Marseille on a permanent transfer.
After joining Les Phocéens from Chelsea, the England U20 earned his professional debut last season as he broke into the senior team. He would make nine appearances across all competitions for the first team and even scored and assisted once.
However, his contract was set to expire next summer and there was no agreement in place for an extension. Marseille have set a new standard and are keen to sell players who are entering the final year of their contract without an extension on the horizon.
The versatile teenager who can play as both a defender and a midfielder had been close to a swap to the MLS side Chicago Fire. However, for an unconfirmed reason, the move fell apart, which allowed for Sturm Graz to swoop in and secure their signing.
