Stuttgart attacker Jacob Bruun Larsen’s permanent transfer to Burnley has been officially confirmed. Sky reports that the Clarets have obtained the longtime Bundesliga professional for a transfer fee of only €4m. Stuttgart – who paid just €1.7m to acquire the Danish international from Hoffenheim last January – have turned a handsome profit on the 26-year-old.
Kicker does report that the transfer fee lies closer to €5m, but it remains the case that all parties involved have sealed a solid deal. Bruun Larsen signs a new four-year-deal with his Premier League outfit.
Whilst working on loan at Turf Moor during the 2023/24 campaign, the former expensive Borussia Dortmund purchase enjoyed his most successful season in many years, scoring a career high seven goals.
“Jacob immediately became an important factor for our team after his transfer in January,” Stuttgart board-member-for-sport Fabian Wohlgemuth noted in a club statement. “With the opportunity to move to the Premier League, Jacob now has a new perspective. He approached us with the desire for a change. We agreed to the transfer because the relevant conditions were met.”
“In all honesty, I’m very happy to be back,” the player himself added. “It’s a good feeling. When I found out that the club was interested in me, I knew immediately that I was ready to come back and sign a permanent contract here. I can’t wait to walk through the tunnel at Turf Moor again in a few weeks and see all the fans again.“
