Borussia Mönchengladbach have officially confirmed striker Tomas Cvancara’s loan to Antalyaspor. The eight-times-capped Czech international heads to the first division on a deal that took quite a bit of negotiating between the Bundesliga club and its Süper Lig counterpart. Antalyaspor will take on the demands of Cvancara’s salary and pay Gladbach a €750,000 loan fee.

Kicker confirms al these details, along with the fact that the loan does not include a purchase option. Gladbach – who were apparently prepared to give the controversial forward a second chance this season – will receive their €10.5m transfer bust back at the end of the campaign. Roland Virkus and the BMG administrative team will then have more decisions to make.

Cvancara remains under contract with the foals until 2028. In procuring the loan fee, Gladbach have offset the €750,000 fee they paid to acquire Hoffenheim striker Haris Tabakovic on loan last week. The Niederrheiner also concluded a massively important transfer earlier today with the acquisition of Japanese attacker Shuto Machino.

“This loan will give Tomáš a new opportunity to realize his potential in a different environment,” Gladbach sporting director Virkus noted in a statement accompanying the transaction. “We are convinced that this is the best solution for all sides in this situation.”
