Members of the first-team squads at both of Spanish football’s leading clubs have this week been afforded fresh international call-ups.

This comes ahead of the upcoming September international break.

The first comes from Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad, where Andriy Lunin, despite having not taken to the pitch yet this season, has been included in Ukraine’s latest squad.

Ukraine are primed to lock horns with France and Azerbaijan in a pair of World Cup qualifiers next month.

And set to face off against their Blancos teammate for France will be two more leading figures in Spain’s capital.

As much comes with Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni having been afforded respective places in Les Bleus’ latest squad.

Shifting focus towards Barcelona, and a member of the defensive ranks in Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana squad will join Mbappé and Tchouaméni in the French setup, too.

Despite having not featured from the off in either of Barca’s first two La Liga fixtures of the term, right-back Jules Koundé has been called upon by Didier Deschamps once more.
