After spending last season on loan at Dinamo Zagreb, Augsburg have announced the departure of Nathanaël Mbuku (23) on loan to Montpellier for the 2025/26 campaign. The Ligue 2 side have a reported purchase option in the player’s loan deal.
On the player’s departure, FCA Managing Director Michael Ströll, said: “Nathanaël has already had a very successful time in Ligue 2 and, with his goals, contributed to AS Saint-Étienne’s promotion to the top division. When the opportunity for another move to France arose, he approached us with the desire to take advantage of this opportunity. We wish him every success.”
During his time at Dinamo Zagreb, the French attacker only scored two goals and provided one assist in 20 appearances (584 minutes) across all competitions.
On his return to France, the 23-year-old added: “Unfortunately, my time at Dinamo Zagreb didn’t go as hoped. Therefore, I’m happy about the move back to France. I want to play regularly again in Montpellier and build on my previous performances.”
