Having recovered from an injury, Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger starts for Germany in their UEFA Euro 2024 Round of 16 clash against Denmark tonight.

The 31-year-old centre-half suffered a muscle strain in Die Mannschaft’s previous match against Switzerland and throughout the week, there were doubts over his availability for the game against the Danes.

But, Rudiger returned to training on Friday and earlier today, it was reported that the green light had been given for the Real Madrid centre-half to start and play at Signal Iduna Park.

The 31-year-old starts at the heart of the defence alongside Nico Schlotterbeck, who steps into the team in the absence of Jonathan Tah, who misses out through suspension. Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos also features.

Interestingly, long-term Real Madrid target Florian Wirtz has been left out of the team by Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann.

Another player on the Merengues’ radars, Jamal Musiala, starts for the hosts.
