Juventus and Massimiliano Allegri have officially come to a mutual agreement over the termination of the former coach’s contract, the club have confirmed in a statement.

The coach was dismissed on May 17, little over a day after the club’s 1-0 victory over Atalanta in the final of the Coppa Italia.

Though the Old Lady were victorious, the club’s decision makers felt that Allegri had not acted compatibly with the club’s core values. The 56-year-old lost his cool on the touchline, furiously taking off his jacket and throwing it to the floor.

There were also claims that he made serious threats to Guido Vaciago, the editor of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, in the Stadio Olimpico tunnel after full-time.

Juventus felt that they had just cause for dismissal, while the coach had reportedly been prepared to take his former employers to court over the nature of his dismissal.

However, the two parties have now come to a mutual agreement over the termination of Allegri’s contract, as confirmed in a statement on the official club website.
