Chelsea won’t consider any loan offers for Carney Chukwuemeka, and clubs will need to pay close to his £40m release clause according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

Chukwuemeka is surplus to requirements at Chelsea, and is one of a number of players the Blues are looking to move on before the end of the window.

The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Dortmund and is keen to return to the Bundesliga outfit.

Chelsea won’t consider any loan offers for Chukwuemeka

Dortmund made a loan offer with an obligation to buy for upwards of £15m on Friday, which was reportedly instantly dismissed by Chelsea.

Chelsea were said to have found the offer for Chukwuemeka “insulting” and it will be interesting to see what Dortmund do next.

Napoli have been mentioned as a potential destination for Chukwuemeka, whilst RB Leipzig also expressed interest during talks for Xavi Simons.

Chelsea have got a little over two weeks to find a solution for Chukwuemeka, and Solhekol has provided an update.

“Chelsea will not consider a loan for him at all this summer,” he told Sky Sports News as quoted on X.com.

“If anybody wants to sign him, they’re going to have to sign him on a permanent deal, and offers will have to be close to his £40 million release clause.

“Those are the kind of offers that would be considered by Chelsea. And of course, it would need add-ons and there would also need to be a sell on clause for Chelsea, as well, but he’s not going out on loan again.”

Chelsea are working on a deal for Simons, and have been locked in negotiations with Leipzig for a number of weeks, but have yet to make an official offer.

It’s believed the Blues will be able to push forward with the deal once Christopher Nkunku has left, and the Frenchman has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich.
