Juventus have reportedly made a transfer decision on Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui after their efforts to sign him on deadline day failed.

Juventus interested in Mazraoui

A report covered by The Peoples Person last weekend revealed that Juventus had settled on Mazraoui as an ideal target to reinforce the right side of their defence.

Despite United’s struggles last term, Mazraoui was one of the very few players who demonstrated a level of consistency.

He also impressed with his versatility, regularly lining up at right-centre-back, right-wing-back, left-wing-back and on one occasion, as a number 10.

He picked up an injury at the end of the campaign which caused him to miss United’s pre-season tour in the United States.

Mazraoui just returned to action, coming off the bench during Sunday’s 3-2 win over Burnley at Old Trafford.

It was stated that Juventus were keen on signing Mazraoui on loan as a potential replacement for Nico Gonzalez, who sealed a move to Atletico Madrid.

It’s understood that United made it clear they had no desire to part ways with Mazraoui. Now, a report has claimed that the Serie A giants made an attempt to snap up Mazraoui on deadline day but it didn’t work. However, they could revisit the situation in January.

Juventus’ position on Mazraoui

According to TuttoSport, Juventus’ bid to secure Mazraoui’s signature failed, with the player poised to continue at United for the 2025/26 season.

Juventus are “likely to try again” when the winter transfer window commences in January.

At the moment, club boss Igor Tudor is happy with Pierre Kalulu but there remains an urge to address the position in the coming months.

Meanwhile, United are back in action on Sunday, 14 September, when they face cross-town rivals Manchester City in the derby.
