West Ham United's pursuit of Ivorian midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré has encountered a significant obstacle. Following a difficult start to their season, the club identified him as a key target to strengthen their squad.

However, their initial approach of a loan offer with an option to buy has been rejected outright by Nottingham Forest. The club's leadership has made it clear they will only sanction a departure under one of two strict conditions: a permanent transfer for a substantial fee, or a loan deal that includes a mandatory, unconditional purchase obligation.

The 27-year-old midfielder remains under contract with Nottingham Forest until the summer of 2028. His current market valuation is reported to be in the region of €24 million. The player's annual earnings are estimated to be approximately €4.5 million.
