Nottingham Forest currently represent the most credible escape route for Juventus outcast Douglas Luiz ahead of Everton and West Ham. The midfielder is surely keen on going back to the Premier League. On the other hand, the Old Lady needs to limit the damage financially since he came in through a swap with a €50M valuation, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.
The Tricky Trees are open to a trade involving Ibrahim Sangaré. They signed him from PSV for €35M two years ago. However, he has struggled to stay healthy and secure a regular role, making 30 Premier League appearances over the last 2 campaigns. He has 43 caps and 11 goals with the Ivory Coast to his name. The 27-year-old spent time at Toulouse earlier in his career.
The operation is in its early stages, but there’s room to negotiate. Juventus and Nottingham Forest are motivated to move Douglas Luiz and Sangaré. It remains to be seen whether they’ll be able to find a formula that satisfies both and if the math works. The Tricky Trees almost purchased Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula in June. However, the two players turned down the proposal after the fees had been agreed upon.
The Bianconeri need to offload the Brazilian outcast to make room for an addition in the same role. New director François Modesto stated that the misfits who don’t leave won’t be frozen out.
They need a miracle to ship him off for good this summer without taking a massive loss. Swaps aren’t a great strategy for addressing technical needs, but the economic element appears to be taking precedence in some challenging situations.
