Nottingham Forest have kicked off their summer business with the signing of Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson.

The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal at The City Ground through 2029 after making 44 Premier League appearances for the Magpies.

Reports suggest the midfielder will cost Forest up to £30 million.

“We are all delighted to welcome Elliot to Nottingham Forest and pleased that he has chosen to continue to develop his talent with us in the Premier League,” Forest’s Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson said.

“We are sure he will thrive in a Forest shirt, as other players in his age profile have done. As soon as the opportunity arose for him to potentially join, it was something we were all excited to make happen.”

Interestingly, Newcastle have also confirmed that they have signed 30-year-old goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos from Forest, though the deal does not seem to be an out and out swap.

Odysseas won two Primeira League titles during a five-year stint with Benfica before moving to England to join Forest in September 2023, though he spent his time as a Forest player out on loan.
